Sheriff says he needs $800K more to fight crime

Delaware County Sheriff Ray Dudley made an informal request for an additional $800,000 from City Council to fight drugs and replace old vehicles. On Tuesday, the Sheriff told council members that Delaware had the most meth lab busts in Indiana, 234, and along with that, his department needs more jail officers and more cruisers. He told the Star Press that he hopes Council will earmark new money from the new local public safety income tax to pay for the departments needs.
