Saying Muncie “doesn’t make a good first impression,” community leader Tom Bracken outlined a plan to create a park in Downtown Muncie to draw people to the area. That plan, which would cost $47 million, would require the already-approved plan of turning the Cintas building into GearBox, a makers hub that includes a brewery, shops and restaurants that would sell works from artists. Bracken told residents that Cintas building is an eyesore, and can’t be renovated for the estimated $1M cost as it stands now. Bracken’s plan for a 10 acre Muncie Central Park calls for a four-block greenspace between East Main, East Jackson, South Vine to Jefferson & Mullberry.
